    anti-inflammatory banana muffins

I recently realized I haven’t shared any baking recipes with you here on ‘hello wholefoods’ so today I will change that! My family pretty much always has a steady stock of either a version of these banana muffins or breakfast bars (which I will share another time). These are easy to make and happen to be gluten free, dairy free, egg free, can easily be made nut free for those with allergies, and are kid approved by my 17 month old and by my 2 and 5 year old nieces! I mean, who doesn’t want muffins for breakfast?

Lazy chocolate lovers, this post is for you. These easy four-ingredient raw cookies are perfect to snack on or have for dessert. They are packed with healthy fats, biotin and vitamin E from the almonds, fiber and iron from the dates, and antioxidants, magnesium and iron from the cacao. This recipe calls for raw cacao powder because the beans are milled at low temperatures to protect the nutrients and flavor. If you tend to like super sweet desserts, you may want to add an extra date or two.

    peach & oat breakfast smoothie

I love how modern kitchen appliances can turn healthful food into quick, easy, and delicious meals! One of my favorite kitchen appliances is our blender. My husband and I use it so often that my baby isn’t even fazed by it. Mostly we use it for smoothies, which are my go-to breakfast in the summer. Smoothies are great to take with you on your commute to work or drink with one hand while you hold a baby in the other.
